Rust and Micro Environments


 

I wanted to capture textures in the environment that were hidden or lost. I wanted to find decaying and rotted textures, this process lead me to experiment with rust. I was inspired by gothic/horror video games like silent hill.
 
 I wanted to capture textures that were rusted but looked organic in nature, like an open wound. This process required me to look and find rust in places that the elements had had full affect.
 
 This then lead me on to micro environments, micro environments were areas that had rusted and had then started to have growth. These were areas that captured the idea of silent hill and my original idea to capture texture.
